  1. Dear Babs and Dolores,

Please accept my sincerest sympathies in the passing of Betty. I have many great memories of Betty, especially her laugh…I will NEVER forget her laugh and the twinkle in her eyes. And how she, mom and Aunt Marcie would laugh and carry on for hours! Betty ALWAYS had time to talk to you…must run in our family! 🙂 I know they are all together now, picking up right where they left off!!! Let’s not forget Aunt Rose, either! She was a gem I remember fondly often. I was hoping she’d be laid out last Sun as I had every intention of coming out to see you. However, with her arrangements being on Thursday, with the threat of such horrible weather, I am afraid I will be unable to attend. But I would LOVE to hear from you in the future. I will leave my address at the end and truly hope to hear from both of you in the future. God bless you and God Bless Betty. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, and may the Perpetual Light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

    Love,

  3. I have fond memories of visiting with Betty at her parents farm home back in the 1950’s. My Great Aunt Christine had many cats on the farm, thus many kittens which I loved to play with but never allowed to bring one back home to St. Louis. I was amazed at the delicious meals that came out of the wood burning oven but sure did’t enjoy using the outhouse. The parlor door was always kept shut only opened on special occasions. It was filled with many antique treasures. I am fortunate to own the one that I adored as a young child. It is the glass globe that contains my Grandmother Elizabeth’s wedding veil which surrounds their wedding portrait. It was given to me in 1972 and is proudly displayed on my bedroom mantle. My mother was Rose Adrian Scheppers daughter of Elizabeth Weigers and Stephan Adrian. My last memory of Visiting with Betty was at the Westphalia picnics in the late 1970’s. Betty was avoiding the August heat playing Bingo under the tent. She so enjoyed being able to yell out BINGO!

  4. Dear Babs, I am thinking of you and your family with deepest sympathy for the loss of Betty. I only have memories of Betty during my childhood of visiting the farm and once when Betty moved to town. Mother so much enjoyed her time reuniting with everyone in Westphalia and sharing her tales of growing up in a small town in Mo. DeDe Scheppers Tersteeg (Rose Adrian Scepper’s Daughter)
