Elizabeth "Betty" Mary Rehagen, 95, of Westphalia, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at Westphalia Hills. She was born May 1, 1918, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Borgmeyer) Redel. Betty was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Westphalia. She was united in marriage on April of 1940, in St. Louis to Conrad Rehagen who preceded her in death on September of 1983. Betty spent most of her life in Westphalia as a homemaker. Betty also cleaned homes while raising her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia. Betty loved caring for her family. She was especially fond of animals and had many pets over the years. She had a great love for the outdoors, which included fishing and bird watching. She enjoyed embroidering and made many quilts and other items for her family over the years. Survivors include: three sons, Conrad "Connie" (Evelyn) Rehagen, Perryville; Melvin (Karen) Rehagen, Westphalia; Greg Rehagen (Rhonda Holliday), Freeburg; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; and one brother, Herbert "Pete" Redel, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Diane Rehagen; a son, Harold Rehagen; one brother, Vincent "Cotton" Redel; two sisters, Alice Woratzeck and Esther Plassmeyer; and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Rehagen. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10:45 a.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia. Memorials are suggested to Mass Intentions.
