Condolences on the passing of Evie. Remembering good times we had when the Evie & Jim Borgmeyer and Steve & Ceil Player families got together.
Dear Evelyn Borgmeyer family – My sincerest condolences to you. Our families have been friends since we moved to Jefferson City in 1959, through church, scouting, sports, Lions Club, etc. Evy was truly one of the nicest people I have ever known. God bless you all. Dolores Hempe
Deepest sympathy to your family on the loss of your mother, Evie. She was such a sweet, sweet lady and she and your dad were great friends of my parents, Steve and Ceil Player. Even after we moved to Quincy they remained the best of friends and managed to get together for visits as much as they could, in Jeff City and at the lake. I have many fond memories of both your parents and I pray that the cherished memories of your beautiful mother will comfort you and bring you peace during this difficult time and always. Mary Beth (Player) Young

When I would take my book order to the window at Scholastic or pick it up, Evelyn was always there to help. She was a sweet, kind lady, who left a lasting impression on me. I was blessed to know her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Betty Fast – a former I. C. teacher.
I met Evelyn shortly after retirement in 2003. I was invited to attend the Council of Clubs tea and fashion show with her and Dorothy J. We had such a happy time together. I had such admiration for Evelyn. I occasionally saw her at the Healthplex and would make a point of getting onto the treadmill next to her. She never gave up. I also knew Evelyn from St. Peter Church. Her faith was very strong. She was a very sweet and kind lady. She will be missed by many. Rest in peace, Evelyn.
Evie was one of my best friend’s (Janet’s) Mom. She was my Girl Scout leader for years. I can’t begin to count the wonderful memories from their family and home and all the kindness they showed me through the years. I never heard a cross word come from her, and believe me, Janet and I gave her good reason. Rest in peace with those you’ve missed through the years, Evie.
Evelyn was the sweetest and kindest lady. We attend church at St. Peters and would often see her at various parish functions. She had the prettiest blue eyes and the sweetest smile. My family will miss her, but know that she is with her loved ones and Our Lord.
I so enjoyed working with Evelyn at St. Mary’s Gift Shop. She was the sweetest person I think that I have ever known. I always teased her by telling her that I wanted to grow up to be just like her. (I’m in my 70’s.) I have no doubt that she’s in the arms of our Lord as she truly was a kind and faithful servant of His. He gave her a long and fulfilling life that she used well and she’s now enjoying her reward. Linda Oligschlaeger
I would like to offer my condolences to David and his siblings on the passing of their mom. Their mom and dad were wonderful friends of my parents (Fred and Esther), and those four shared many good times together. Evie was a sweetheart, always thinking of others in sincere ways. And she would make time to visit, no matter how or when casual contact occurred. What a good woman; may she rest in peace. Sincerely, -Elaine Bode-Oliver

My heart hurts gravely due to the passing of your precious and dear Mother, David, Gene, Randy & families, as well as Michael & family on the passing of your mother-in-law. Sending my love and deepest condolences to each of you. The entire Borgmeyer Family has been very special to me for many years when Jim and I worked for the same insurance company and I well recall a group of us helping the family move into their home on W. McCarty Street. So many good times were enjoyed throughout the years and their children all grew up to be awesome adults! Evelyn loved everyone and always wore the most beautiful smile to share with all. She definitely made the world a much better place to live in. She was such a hard worker her entire life and was always happy to do things to help others and enjoyed her many church clubs. She loved her family deeply and they always came first. Her works on earth are done and now it is time for her to join her loved ones in her Heavenly Home, where she has now met our Jesus, face-to-face. I will continue to hold each of you ever so close in thought and in prayer as you travel the difficult days ahead and adapt. Remember, God loves each of you and so do I! Love, Barbara L. (Fitzsimmons) Robinson
Justin, Steph, and family – We send you thoughts of comfort. We are praying for you and your family.
To Evelyns’ Family–I knew this special lady as I am a volunteer at St.Marys also. She always had a smile on her face. She liked to talk with everyone who came in the Gift Shop to shop or like me I was passing thru to go to the office. The impression she made on many of us will be remembered for a long time. Judy Evans
Evelyn was such a wonderful lady. I have such fond memories of the times I spent at her house on McCarty Street. She was always so kind and helpful to our family. What a terrific lady and neighbor. Sincerely, Susie Martin Meller
