Evelyn Marie Bode, 98, Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at StoneBridge Senior Living Oak Tree.

She was born June 5, 1926, the daughter of Ben and Lena (Wilbers) Pringer.

On October 8, 1947, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville she married Bernard Anton Bode, who preceded her in death on June 16, 1982.

Evelyn was a homemaker and spent large parts of her day helping her husband on the farm and in their dairy barn.

She was a member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church, the church women’s organization and the quilting group.

She was a major quilter and made many quilts for her family and friends.  She enjoyed sewing and took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens.

Survivors include one son, Michael (Angela) Bode, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Rhoads, Richard Bode, and Benjamin (Kaitlyn) Bode; and six great-grandchildren, Evelyn Rhoads, Josie Rhoads, Jack Rhoads, Blake Bode, Tinley Bode, and Larissa Bode.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Nicole Bode; seven brothers, Oscar Pringer, Dave Pringer, Ray Pringer, Monroe Pringer, Walter Pringer, Clete Pringer, and Gene Pringer; and two sisters, Mabel Bernskoetter, and Ludvina Rackers.

Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be 9-10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend with the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox and Rev. L. James Finder officiating.

Burial will be in St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church.
