FRANK HERMAN KEMPKER, JR.

December 25, 1940 ~ August 1, 2011
He was born on December 25, 1940, in Henley, Mo., the son of the late Frank Herman Kempker, Sr., and Celeste Looten Kempker.
He was united in marriage on August 22, 1959, in St. Elizabeth, to Marcella Rose Bax who resides at the home.
Frank was operations manager for McGraw Edison for many years, he also worked for the Supreme Office of the Knights of Columbus, and then owned and operated a mobile home business in north Jefferson City known as K & K Mobile Home Sales and Supplies until his death.
He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Bishop Michael McAuliffe Knights of Columbus #12992 and Fourth Degree St. Judes Assembly #1567. He served as State Deputy for the Missouri Knights of Columbus from 1980-1982. He was treasurer of the Knights of Columbus Columbia Charities for many years. He was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and served as Area Councillor for many years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served on the Board of Directors for Capitol Projects where he was very instrumental in building and developing the Sheltered Workshop, now known as Capitol Projects. He was a board member and proud supporter for Special Olympics. He was also a proud supporter of the American Cancer Society through fundraising for the Marching For Mom Relay for Life Team.
Frank was awarded the Benemerenti Medal by Pope Benedict XVI, in 2006, for his long and exceptional service to his church and community.
Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends all over the United States and abroad. He enjoyed vacationing with his family and grandchildren, especially the family cruise celebrating their 50th anniversary.
Other survivors include: six children, Jeffrey (Linda) Kempker, Jefferson City; Julie Kempker, Lenexa, KS; Vicki Bramer, St. Charles; Kevin Kempker, Jefferson City; Kelli (Jeff) Wolters, Jefferson City; Amy Kempker, Jefferson City; six beautiful grandchildren, Cortney Wolters, Ashley Bramer, Jeremy Wolters, Jared Kempker, Kara Bramer, Jamie Kempker; and two sisters, Lucille Limbach, Marys Home; and Viola Lepper Ihler, Eugene.
He was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Max Limbach, Alfred Lepper, and Amos Ihler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A Kurwicki officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.

I worked with Kevin for several years and each time Frank would come to see Kevin Frank never failed to have a smile and warm friendly greeting to everyone who he came in contact with.
