Sending my deepest sympathies to the Schonhardt family!! So sorry for your loss. I had enjoyed working with Frank at Rose International…. he was always so kind! May he rest in peace!
My sincere condolences, Kathleen, to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Kathleen and family,I am so sorry to hear about Frank’s death. You may not remember me, but I worked with Frank for quite a few years at the Department of Mental Health. Frank was at there when I started working for DMH in 1993. My cubicle was just outside his office. Although he had an office, I didn’t realize he was the head of software development, of which I was a member. Although I was three layers below him on the organizational chart, he never indicated his position in the organization. We had nice chats almost every morning because of our proximity. I got to hear about his family, of whom he was proud enough to “almost brag,” though bragging wasn’t part of his normal demeanor. We also shared discussions about sports and some of our personal history. So, I got to “know” Frank Schoenhardt, the person, before I got to know him as a manager. I was shocked when I learned, several months later, of his role in OIS because he was so unassuming and friendly. That was one more part of Frank’s personality that appreciated and respected.Over the years there, Frank encouraged and supported me as a person and as an employee. Several years later, when our OIS Director Bruce Vieweg, left, Frank encouraged me to apply for that position, for which I was eventually chosen. So, he was a large factor in a major episode of my career. I continued to enjoy working with Frank until he retired and went to work for Rose. We stayed in touch irregularly over the years he was there. He was always the same gentle, caring, interesting, and interested man I first knew. I’m fortunate to have known Frank as a co-worker and a friend. I will miss him, as I know all of you will. With sympathy,Gary Lyndaker

So sorry to hear of Mr. Schonhardt’s passing. I was a student of his many years ago at Columbia College. A great teacher but even greater person. It was a pleasure to have known him.
