Geneva Maxine “Jeanie” Moore, 80, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021, at St. Joseph Bluffs surrounded by her family.

She was born December 20, 1940, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Rev. Earnest John and Allie (Peterson) Pool.

She was a 1958 graduate of Silex High School.

Jeanie was united in marriage on September 21, 1958, in Silex, Missouri to Dick Moore, the love of her life.

She was a very successful business woman who owned and operated Modern Litho. She took great joy in encouraging employees to grow in their careers and in providing outstanding service to the customers she came to know. Many of those employees and customers became her dear friends. She was always quick to help others, whether related to business questions or personal struggles, and she was admired for the wise counsel she provided.

Jeanie was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in Jefferson City and LIFE Church in Fruitland Park, Florida. Growing up as the eldest daughter of a pastor led her to use her musical talents in service to the church.

Over the years she played piano and organ and sang in countless church services. Music was one of the great joys of her life. Jeanie was also thrilled to be able to support missions work. She and her husband Dick purchased entire libraries for Assembly of God Bible Schools primarily located in Latin America.

In addition to using her gifts in her congregation, Jeanie was a tireless volunteer in her community. She served as Curator and Treasurer for the Lincoln University Board of Curators for seven years, President and member of Jefferson City Zonta Club, President and member of the Capital Region Medical Center Board of Directors, a member of the Capital Region Medical Center Foundation, President and member of the Mid-Missouri Medical Foundation, Secretary and member of the United Way of Central Missouri Board of Directors, Vice Chairman and member of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce, and member of National Association of Printers and Lithographers. In light of her years of volunteer leadership, she received the first Yellow Rose Woman of Achievement Award (2000) and Lifetime Achievement Award (2008) from the Jefferson City Club of Zonta International.

Jeanie embodied the idea of servant leadership, and was quick to lend a hand, from developing a strategic business plan to tasks like clearing dishes after a church dinner. Her leadership gifts truly showed when she saw a way to improve a situation. As she said, “Never accept the status quo. If you know or think you know a better way, tell someone.” She often knew a better way, and she always took the time to tell someone or show someone how to make things better.

In her retirement she continued to play competitive rounds of golf with her husband Dick and other friends and family members. Strangers sometimes underestimated her ability to “hit the ball,” but they always had a good time when she was playing. She loved her family fiercely, and she adored spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Dick Moore, Jefferson City, MO; three children, Darrell (Chris) Moore, Centertown, MO; Darla (Trent) Porter, Jefferson City, MO; Debra (Nelson) Patterson, Libertyville, IL; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and four siblings, Earnest (Patsy) Pool, Silex, MO; Loreta (Wayne) Middlebrooks, Lee’s Summit, MO; Kathleen (Charles) Sears, Belton, MO; and Kay (John) Sears, Flemington, MO.

Private family services will be held at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Lowell Perkins officiating on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2:00 pm. The church will live-stream the service on their website at www.firstassembly.org.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Zonta Foundation Second Chance Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 106021, Jefferson City, MO 65110 or The Gideons International, www.gideons.org/donate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

  6. This makes my heart very sad but I know she is at her Heavenly Home. She was always a joy and uplifting to be around. I remember when I was a little kid and she would come and visit Brother and Sister Pool at Silex. It was always a treat because she would play the piano and sing and I remember going home in such a good mood that I was in cloud nine. She was one of the people that I looked up to and felt very loved by.. she will always be in my ❤️ ! One other thing is I would go to Jeff City and see her and I would walk into her business and I felt so important because I knew the ownerߘand she always took time out to visit with me no matter how busy she was and for that I am forever grateful ❤️❤️Thank you all for sharing yer family with me and mine.

  7. Jeanie: A most beautiful, Proverbs 31 woman who left a legacy of a love of Jesus. Now, that’s something special indeed! Praying for all of those impacted by her loss. May you be reminded that God bottles up each one of your tears and grieves alongside you, while holding his healing balm in his hands. Cherish the memories!

  8. Condolences to Dick and the family. Although I didn’t know Jeanie very well, I did know Dick, having worked for him and with him at the Mo. Dept. of Corrections for several years. It was a pleasure to have know them both during that time, one I will always cherish. Sincerely, Dave Mueller.

  9. Jeanie will always be a bright shining star in our lives. We have a long and beautiful story, a story of two families from different cultures who came to be one happy family. And Jeanie was the catalyst in bringing our families together. And over the years we have been the recipients of her amazingly loving and Godly spirit. She was a great model and great influence for us. Jeanie, we thank God for allowing our path to cross, and for having you in our lives for the last 35+ years. So many wonderful memories! You will always be remembered as our sister in Christ and a great model for a life well lived. We will miss your physical presence, but your memory will always live in our hearts. Heaven is rejoicing having gained an Angel. So long, Sister, until we meet again! Tesfai, Turu, Aaron and Benyam

  10. Jeanie was a role model for so many women in Jefferson City both as a businesswoman and as a Christain. She cared about people and was always ready to help those in need. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dick and her family. May she rest in peace, Judy and Alex Alexiou

  11. My Mom introduced Jeanie to Dick, one of my Dads brothers. I remember Jeanie making us pancakes for breakfast while watching my brother & I.

  12. We will miss her so much, and our deepest condolences go to your whole family. Her loving heart’s desire would be a huge reunion with each and every one of her family members and friends in her heavenly home. ~ Harold and Phyllis

  13. In the early 1960’s Jeanie and Dick served as Sunday School Teachers and Mentors at Glad Tidings Assembly of God (Eastside Assembly) in Springdale Arkansas. I was the second of 5 sons of the Pastor (Curtis McLaughlin). My Father and Jeanie’s Father (Johnny Poole) attend Bible College together and held numerous revival meetings for each other over the years. I had the good fortune to sit beside Jeanie and “soak up” her abilities and learn a lot of her piano skills. I will always remember her smile and her dedication to service and teaching. Prayers for her Family as the celebrate her Homegoing. – Ron (Ronnie) McLaughlin

  14. Our deepest condolences go to Jeanie’s family. She was a godly lady who had many admirable attributes. She loved the Lord, her family, and others. She was always ready to share the Gospel with anyone who would listen and demonstrated her love for the lost through her generosity. She was an encouragement and inspiration to both Christians and unbelievers. Now she is at rest in the arms of her heavenly Father. Larry and Sally

  15. Sharon and I have such wonderful memories of Jeannie from our days in Jefferson City. She was a true servant leader–with a heart filled with love and grace that reflected her deep faith. She personified a life well lived. We send our love and sympathy to Dick and the family. Rich McClure

  16. Jeanie barely knew me when I asked her to round out our foursome for a charity golf tournament. She agreed even after telling her I was a horrible golfer which was confirmed during the tournament. However she found a way to make me feel I contributed by asking me to take my shot before she did because I was pretty good at making divots and she said she could then use the divot to “tee up” her ball! Another friend that played that day and I still laugh when we recall her comments. She was a great example for living out your faith. My sympathies to the family.

  17. My heart both breaks and rejoices knowing that Jeanie will be missed here on earth, but that she is now in her Heavenly home. Dick, you and Jeanie have been such a blessing to my parents and to me and my family as well. Jeanie’s love for God and for people has been an encouragement to many. We love you all and are praying for you, Amy (Means) McKenzie

  18. It is with enormous privilege that I send this note of remembrance of Jeanie to Dick and the Moore Family. I remember the first time I met Jeanie: her energy, her extraordinary faith and her commitment to her family. Then, over the next twenty-five years, we witnessed those incredible gifts being expressed to all she touched. God Bless you, Dick and family, as you and Jeanie have blessed us. Sincerely, John and Barb Sheehan
