Henrietta Elizabeth Brenneke, 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at St. Joseph Bluffs. She was born January 20, 1933, in St. Anthony, Missouri the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine "Katie" (Otto) Schaffer. She was united in marriage on May 15, 1954, in St. Anthony, Missouri to Clarence Frank Brenneke who survives at the home. Henrietta worked at the Veit's Village Motel in Jefferson City for over 36 years as a housekeeper and maid. She also had worked for Oberman Factory. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, playing cards, playing scrabble with her daughter Diana, quilting, and loved to cook for her family. Survivors include five children, Diana Brenneke, Holts Summit; Dennis Brenneke, Jefferson City; Douglas (Victoria) Brenneke, Holts Summit; Darrel Brenneke (Lawrence A. Orozco), Mission Hills, KS; David (Cindy) Brenneke, New Bloomfield, MO; nine grandchildren, Tony Derkum, Angie Derkum, Travis Brenneke, Chase Brenneke, Jessica Brenneke, Dylan Brenneke, Maigen Quinn, Kylie Quinn, Lacey Quinn; six great-grandchildren, Will Derkum, Ashley Twehus, Jacob Twehus, Melina Derkum, Wyatt Twehus, Natalee Derkum; and two siblings, Josephine Macdonald, Alexandria, VA; and Vincent (Carol) Schaffer, Dixon, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Brenneke; five sisters, Regina Schaffer, Marie Schaffer, Nettie Filipiak, Erma Gass, Leona Verhoff; and two brothers, Louis Schaffer and Anton Schaffer. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Joshua Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, 600 Monroe St., Suite 100, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
