A woman of faith, strength and perseverance. Henrietta Robinson, 83, of Jefferson City went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born October 31, 1934, in Henson, Missouri to Bennie and Viola (Lloyd) Robinson.
Henrietta, never shied away from hard work. She spent more than 20 years at Brown Shoe Company, working as a top stitcher.
Her 11 children were her pride and joy. She was a strict disciplinarian, who pushed her kids to pursue a higher education. Henrietta practiced what she preached, returning to school, earning her GED and entering college at Lincoln University with a major in Computer Science. She was sidelined by a hip injury, but she never stopped reading and learning. She was also an avid viewer of the news, especially politics.
Henrietta was a member of Second Baptist Church where she cherished her role as secretary for the Senior Adult Ministry. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and modern day technology. She was a devoted reader of the Bible. In the last weeks and days of her life, she clutched her Bible reading the book of Luke.
Survivors include eleven children, Mary Jane Neal, Inkster, Mich.; Beulahre Robinson, Jefferson City; Debra Cooper, Dallas, TX; Brenetta Robinson, Jefferson City; Evonne Robinson (Russell) Baker, Charleston, MO; Romona Robinson (Rodney) Tyler, Cleveland, Ohio; Varnessa Robinson, Columbia; Danny Robinson, St. Louis; Melissa Robinson, Columbia; Rena Robinson, Columbia; Sederia Robinson (Roy) Moise, St. Roberts; 39 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Aster Wade and Ernestine Pitts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; and eight brothers.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Second Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth, Sr. officiating.
Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Few things in life will ever affect you more than the death of a parent. Not only do you have to endure the intense pain of loss but you are also left to face a future that will likely be quite differnt from what you had expected.
