Irene Hilda Adrian, 82, of Jefferson City, passed peacefully into eternal life Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born on March 31, 1930, in St. Martins, the daughter of the late Herbert and Caroline (Moeller) Stegeman. She was united in marriage on May 31, 1952, in St. Martins, to James Herbert Adrian who preceded her in death on July 23, 2007. Irene was a homemaker and in her earlier years she worked for Tweedie Shoe Factory and St. Mary's Health Center Cafeteria. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and a member and past president of the Immaculata Club. She volunteered with the Red Cross and St. Mary's Health Center Auxiliary where she had served as president. Irene also served as a Girl Scout Leader. Irene was an avid quilter, quilting numerous quilts for her family to enjoy. Irene also loved to tend to her flower and herb gardens. She collected cook books and enjoyed cooking for her family. She especially loved being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: four children, Sharon (Jeffrey) Schnieders, Jefferson City; Roger (Nancy) Adrian, Columbia; Randy (Stephanie) Adrian, Holts Summit; Miriam (Ross) Allen, Jefferson City; twelve grandchildren, Justin (Jennie) Schnieders; Eric (Sara) Schnieders; Jessi (Kyle) Wieberg; Abby (David) Biondi; Matt Schnieders; Suzanne Schnieders; Ryan (Natalie) Adrian; Jordan Adrian; Katie Allen; Emily Allen; Jared Allen; Sam Allen; nine great-grandchildren; and seven siblings, Florence Toebben; Paul Stegeman; Ed (Pauline) Stegeman; Mary Lou (Fred) Taggert; Ann (James) Berendzen; Marvin (Becky) Stegeman; and Robert (Jeanne) Stegeman. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Adrian; her granddaughter, Rachael Schnieders; two brothers, Elmer and Leroy Stegeman; and a sister, Catherine Welch. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Colin P. Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Special Learning Center, 1115 Fairgrounds Road, Jefferson City, Mo 65109; or Immaculate Conception Catholic School, 1208 East McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
