Irma Pauline Jansen, 85, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on March 14, 1931, in Cole County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Joseph Mathias and Esther Clara (Kaiser) Ihler. She was united in marriage on October 4, 1952, in Rich Fountain to Carl Bernard Jansen who preceded her in death on August 8, 2014. A homemaker most of her life, Irma also had worked for the Missouri Department of Employment Security as a clerk for 20 years retiring on April 30, 1995. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality. She spent her life caring for others, whether it be sewing, mending, praying, cooking, or just helping as needed. She enjoyed socializing with her card club, pampering her pets and flowers, baking her delicious varieties of cookies, visiting new places, and most of all spending time with her family. Survivors include four children, Larry (Sandra) Jansen, Jefferson City; Joyce Jansen (Brad) Cochren, Lenexa, KS; Carol Sue (Terry) Newgaard, Jefferson City; and Lori Ann (Greg) Steinbeck, Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Ihler, Jr. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Antweiler officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E.
