JAMES THEODORE SHORTAL

James Theodore Shortal, 84, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born on November 17, 1927, in Jersey County, Il., the son of the late Ray and Mae Dabbs Shortal.
He was a 1945 graduate of Jerseyville High School.
James served with the United States Navy.
On April 15, 1950, in Jerseyville, Il., he married Della Blackorby who resides at the home.
James was the office manager for 18 years with International Shoe Factory, and division manager of Stride Rite Corporation for 20 years retiring in 1989.
Other survivors include: one son, John Pat Shortal, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Amanda and Lindsey Shortal, Anna and Beth Shortal, Crystal Shortal; and four great-grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Alan Shortal on February 18, 2012; two sisters, Betty Halwachs and Peggy Ryan; and two brothers, John Shortal and Leo Shortal.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
