Janet Baldridge, 92, of Jefferson City, formerly of Troy, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born January 13, 1925, in Jamaica Island, New York, the daughter of the late William and Edna (Johnson) Bowie. She was united in marriage in 1941 to Carl Baldridge in New York. Carl preceded her in death in 1989. Janet worked for Wal-Mart as a customer service representative for 20 years retiring in 1990. She also had worked as a certified nurse aide caring for others at the Lincoln County Hospital. She was a member of Whiteside Presbyterian Church in Whiteside, Missouri. Janet enjoyed cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and for professional tennis. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and caring for her cat. Survivors include six children, Ronald (Mimi) Baldridge, Winfield, MO; Lorraine (David) Judd, Jefferson City; Donald (Brenda) Baldridge, Jefferson City; Linda (David) Kearbey, Elkland, MO; Jerry (Charolotte) Baldridge, Schertz, TX; Diane (Clayton) Elston, Wentzville, MO; eleven grandchildren, Bob, Bill, Connie; David Jr., Donald Jr., Karen, Matthew, Sarah, Nathan, Natalie, Rachael; and ten great-grandchildren, Connor, Cody, Ryan, Zachary, Mason, Sadie, Maria, Tyler, Justin, and Nichole. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James; and seven siblings, Ruthie, Claire, Marion, James, Don, Bruce, and Bill. The family would like to thank two grandchildren, Matthew (Tier 1 Performing Artist French Horn) and Sarah (Performing Artist Flute), who traveled from San Antonio many times to provide special musical performances for Janet and her family and friends. The family would also like to acknowledge and give thanks to the professionals and nursing staff at Oak Tree Villas and Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility including three special caregivers of Janet: April, Betsy, and Jessica. The care, comfort, and love shown to Janet will never be forgotten. A private graveside service will be held at a later time.
