Jerome August Buschman, 74, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born on September 9, 1937, in Meta, Mo., the son of the late Frank Joseph Buschman and the late Vera Louise Finn Buschman.
He was married on September 27, 1958, in Jefferson City to Beatrice Josephine "Betty" Kramer who survives at the home.
A 1958 graduate of Helias High School, he received degrees from Linn State Technical College in 1968 and Lincoln University in 1980.
A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Buschman retired in 1999 as Control Loss Manager for Tri-Con Industries where he had been employed for seventeen years. He had previously worked for Toastmaster, Shop Smith (five years), and for McGraw Edison (twenty years). While at McGraw Edison he held seventeen patents in tool manufacturing including design concepts for belt sanders, hedge clippers, space heaters, and belt massagers.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; American Legion Post 5; and the Sportmen's Club. He enjoyed coaching Little League baseball, fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, mushroom hunting, and construction work.
Other survivors include five children, Pam (Tom) Conner, Powder Springs, Ga.; Jeff (Perry) Buschman, Jefferson City; Cynthia (Jeff) Eslick, Kansas City, Mo.; Michael(Shelly) Buschman, Jefferson City; and Matt (Kristie Hagner) Buschman, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and eight siblings, Orville (Helena) Buschman, Lawrenceville, Ga.; Barbara (Leonard) Coffelt, Jefferson City; Jenny Roark, Holts Summit, Mo.; Tom (Janet) Buschman, Jefferson City; John (Pat) Buschman, Eldon, Mo.; Larry (Linda) Buschman, Innsbrook Village, Mo.; Janice (Buddy) DeBroeck, Jefferson City; and Sandra (Francis) Lehman, Jefferson City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Taranto of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence, Mo., officiating.
Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 16th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
