Jewell Dean Wilbers, 83, of Wardsville, died Friday, November 14, 2014, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born July 24, 1931, in Cole County, the daughter of the late George Fischer, Sr. and Eleanor Stegeman Huddleston. Jewell was raised by her mother Eleanor and her step-father Otto Huddleston. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Peter High School. She was united in marriage on May 1, 1954, in Jefferson City, to Leroy Louis Wilbers who preceded her in death on January 2, 2005. Jewell worked for Kroger's Grocery Store and McGraw Edison Factory. Most importantly to Jewell was raising her family as a homemaker and later in life as a babysitting. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, Women's Card Club, and Wednesday Ladies Night Out. Jewell was on the committee to start the first Project Graduation and was past President of PTO for Blair Oaks High School. Her hobbies include playing cards, playing Yahtzee with her sister-in-law, Ann; Rummie Cube with Ester; getting her hair done every Saturday; and talking with the ladies. She loved to travel and enjoyed eating out a lot. She loved all her nieces and nephews, especially her God Child Mark Register. Her greatest love and enjoyment was her children and attending her grandchildren's activities. Survivors include six children: Mary (Daryl) Heet, Taos; Lee (Sherri) Wilbers, Lohman; Tom (Sharon) Wilbers, Wardsville; Letha (Tom) Piper, Jefferson City; Tim(Barb) Wilbers, Wardsville; and Gary (Dana) Wilbers, Wardsville; thirteen grandchildren, Joey (Katie) Heet; Ryan (Kayla) Wilbers; Nikki (Brandon) Korsmeyer; Jeff (Cheryl) Heet; Daniel (Jessica) Wilbers; Beth (John) Pearson; Cody Wilbers; James Moeckli; Chelsey Wilbers; Austin Wilbers; Chris Wilbers; Adam Wilbers; and Elle Wilbers; three great-grandchildren, Parker Korsmeyer; Macy Korsmeyer, Jada Wilbers; two sisters, Delores Covert, Independence, Mo; Judy Miller, Ohio; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Huddleston, Jefferson City; and Ann Wilbers, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her father; her mother and step-father; her husband; sister, Carol Register; and two brothers, George Fischer Jr. and Jack Huddleston. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Entombment will be in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Jefferson City, with a prayer service at 3 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus School Foundation; or to the Special Olympics Missouri.   5. Deepest sympathies to the Wilbers family from the Mehmert (Louis and Tootie) family. Dean got me (Tootie) started on Eucharistic Adoration, and she was one the sweetest people I’ve ever known. We will keep your families in our prayers.
