JoAnn Florence Kampeter

JoAnn Florence Kampeter, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
She was born March 27, 1937, in Wayne, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (Fritz) Cassel.
She was married in 1959, in Wayne, PA to Gary Kampeter.
A loving homemaker for many years, JoAnn also worked for Quaker Windows, Gerbes Pharmacy, and sold Avon products. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Argyle, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She enjoyed sports of all kinds, reading, quilting, gardening, and canning. JoAnn developed wonderful friendships from her hometowns of Pennsylvania, Argyle and Jefferson City. She was known for her ‘tell you how it is’ attitude but also for her sweet & caring personality. At her most recent home of the last 4.5 years at JC Manor, JoAnn (aka Manny’s Queen), continued building great friendships with her one-of-a-kind personality. She was a special lady, especially to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Kevin Kampeter, Lohman; Kelly (Jim) Nilges, Wardsville; Jonathan (Sendera) Kampeter, New Bloomfield; Beth (Todd) Siebeneck, Wardsville; seven grandchildren, Kyle (Megan) Kampeter, Alyssa Nilges, Austin Nilges, Mathew Kampeter, Christopher Kampeter, Zane Siebeneck, Andi Siebeneck; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott Kampeter; and two sisters, Jane Ricci and Mary Gordon.
