Lit a candle in memory of Joseph Bernard Huhn
I’ve known Joe and Alice all of my life. One of many find memories of/with Joe was when we would work livestock when us kids were younger and in 4H. I’d ride on the 3-point of his 530 John Deere in amazement as Joe would hand roll a cigarette with one hand while driving that old tractor down the road or through a field and never drop a sprig of tobacco in the process. Joe, you and your family have always been a second family to us and your wisdom, laughter and contagious smile will be greatly missed. Thank you for all the great memories. Our prayers for the Huhn family through this difficult time.
Dear Family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Such sadness, but also a time of special memories. Pease allow me to share one of my favorites: My husband Jim and I, and Joe and Alice go way back as friends. Jim was from Mendon, Missouri which was located in the Swan Lake Canadian Geese Fly Way. Every autumn, thousands of Canadian and Snow geese blackened the skies while hundreds of hunters rented blinds and spent long hours in the cold hoping (for many in vain) to shoot their goose. Jim and Joe set up in their blind, having no idea that their “day” of hunting would be over in a flash. Joe took the first shot…. With only 1 shot, 2 geese fell from the sky! In 1 brief second they had their limit for the day and were done hunting for the day! To this day, I can still hear Joe’s laugh echoing thru the years every time the story was told. I will always remember Joe as a kind, salt-of the-earth man who willingly helped out in time of need. Peace and blessings, dear family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thank you Rose.
Thank you Paul. Your memory brought tears to my eyes.
I love hearing stories like this one.
