JOSEPH WILLIAM WINGE

April 7, 1923 ~ May 8, 2012
Joseph was born April 7, 1923, in Jefferson City, Missouri, son of William and Annie (Vetter) Winge.
He was united in marriage in Jefferson City on November 13, 1943, with his life-long partner Esther Rackers.
Joseph was a member of the Cathedral of St Joseph in Jefferson City, Missouri, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2693, and a life-long farmer.
His hobbies included hunting, horseback riding, dancing and playing cards with friends and family. But what he loved the most was
being with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Esther, his four children, J. Kenneth (Helen) Winge; Gary (Kathy) Winge; Diane (Tom) Landwehr; Joyce (Dale) Slicker, all of Jefferson City; his grandchildren, Keith Winge, Kansas City; Theresa Heckman, Jefferson City; Bruce Winge, Jefferson City; Chad Winge, Jefferson City; Kimberly Lorentz, Fulton; Chris Landwehr, Jefferson City; Brad Slicker, Jefferson City; Sarah Montoya, St. Louis; John Slicker, Jefferson City; Phil Winge, Jefferson City; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Annie (Vetter) Winge; and his three sisters, Florence Renn, Angeline Pirner, and Anna Rackers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Nicholas Reid, officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.

Joyce – I wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers were with you and your family. The loss of a father is a difficult thing. That generation faced so much adversity and saw so much change in their lifetime. Your father was indeed a part of a special generation. I am sorry I will not be able to attend services due to us being out of state. Joe and Esther have been clients of mine since the day I started my practice.
