Judith Ann Payne, 75, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 12, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Clyde William and Dorothy Frances (Breeden) Allgire. She was married on August 29, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Gene Melvin Payne who preceded her in death on January 9, 1992. Judith was a graduate of Normandy High School, class of 1958. On her senior trip to Bagnell Dam, she met the love of her life, Gene Melvin Payne. Once they were married they settled in Osage Beach, Missouri at Kalfran Lodge. She was employed with Bank of the Lake of the Ozarks in bookkeeping for several years, Milo Walz, Plaza Paint, and Lakeland Printing before retiring. Judith's favorite things were decorating, landscaping, lunch with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Judy lived by her grandmother, Florence's favorite saying, "It's a great life if you don't wither." Survivors include a daughter, Tammy (Michael) Everts, Russellville; a son, Terry Payne, Lake of the Ozarks; three grandsons, Kyle (Demi) Rackers, Jefferson City; Judson Everts and Dylan Everts both of Russellville; and three great-grandchildren, Ashton Rackers, Aden Rackers, and Alexander Rackers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Robert Allgire. At Judy's request there will be a private graveside service for the family.
