March 28, 1924 ~ February 22, 2015
June Marie Wahlbrink (nee Kersting), 90 years of age, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 22, 2015, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.
She was born on March 28, 1924, in St. Louis, MO to the late Ferdinand Goesse and Ethel Mae Standing Kersting.
She was united in marriage on March 5, 1944, in St. Louis, to Kenneth John Wahlbrink, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2012.
June graduated in 1942 from Beaumont High School in St. Louis. She attended Miss Hickey's Secretarial School, and was employed in St. Louis for many years as a legal administrative assistant, and for Medigroup, during which time she obtained her Nursing Home Administrator's license.
June volunteered for many organizations over the years. Living the majority of her life in St. Louis, she and her husband retired to Sarasota, FL, and in later years resided in Jefferson City.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and Meadow Lake Acres Country Club where for her, being on the golf course was the next best thing to being on the beach.
She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren and friends, for her gentle and unassuming nature, quiet strength, steadfast loyalty and love, and sense of humor.
Survivors include one son, Kurt Wahlbrink of Jefferson City, one daughter, Kay Miller (Bill) of Estes Park, CO, and two grandchildren Kate Miller (Steve) Rusch, and Ben Miller, all of Estes Park, CO.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kristine Marie Wahlbrink.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church, 324 Madison St., Jefferson City, MO 65101, or a charity of the donor's choice.
Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

I\’m so sorry to learn of June\’s passing, she was such a sweetheart and I loved being around her. I knew her through the golf course and was sorry when she told me that she had dropped her membership from MLACC. She was a good golfer and I treasured her friendship. I pray that God will bless the children and grandchildren in their sorrow. You have my sincere sympathy. Colleen

I just saw the news today that June has passed away. My heart is heavy and I am swallowing back tears. June was a very dear friend to me and a kindred spirit as well. She and I( and your Dad!) met almost 15 years ago and I received much wisdom from both of them. I know I don’t have to tell you what a wonderful, fantastic, awesome and funny woman she was, because I have no doubts that you already know that. We shared many laughs over the years and complained a lot about the cold!! She would tell me stories of your childhood and your lives today so I feel that I know you both even though we have never met. Please know that I loved and respected your Mom and I will miss her terribly. My sympathy to each of you during this time.

By coincidence, I met June a few months after the death of Kenneth. I assured her of my prayers for all the family. The final time that we crossed paths [last fall] she mentioned quitting golf; I renewed my pledge of prayers.
She phoned me after receiving my 2014 Christmas card.
I am very sorry to learn of June’s departure from this life.
My prayers continue for all the family at his sorrowful time of loosing a beloved mother.
My prayer for June: May her soul rest in the peace of God and come to enjoy the eternal, complete happiness of the divine heaven. Amen

I am so sorry to hear of June’s death. We were not only “in-laws” but neighbors back in Bridgeton when our kids were in grade school. Our friendship with Ken and June goes way back. I have fond memories of our time together.
