Kathleen Martha Simpson, 67, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at University Hospital in Columbia surrounded by her family.
She was born May 25, 1958, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Raymond Francis and Julianna Margaret (Baumhoer) Bauer.
Kathleen was a 1976 graduate from Jefferson City High School. She graduated in 1987 from the University of Missouri with her bachelor’s degree in health services management.
She was united in marriage on May 17, 1980, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church to Robert David Simpson who survives of the home.
Kathleen worked for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services as a program manager.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
She liked crafting, sewing and talk shows but her greatest joy was spending time with and supporting her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. She left us with countless examples of how to live with courage, joy and humility.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Robert Simpson; three children, Kelley (Tim) Barnes, St. James; Laura (Matthew) Busch, Wardsville; Brandon (Karen) Simpson, Wardsville; eight grandchildren, Echo, Katie, Carson, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Olivia, Augie and Violet; siblings, Brenda (Darrell) Zeugin, Jefferson City; Lisa (Mike) Yungbluth, Jefferson City and Mary (Mike) Griggs, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers, Raymond Francis Bauer and Joseph Girard Bauer.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Kelechi M. Uzuegbu officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to her grandchildren for their future education.
