Lillian Marie Cavender, 80, of Westphalia, died Sunday, September 7, 2014, at The Arbors in Jefferson City.
She was born July 12, 1934, in Westphalia, the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Schmidt) Werner.
She was a graduate of the first class of Fatima High School in 1952.
She was united in marriage on June 1, 1957, in Westphalia to Dudley Harold Cavender who preceded her in death on November 1, 2003.
Lillian was a homemaker and worked as a bank teller for Linn State Bank (now Legends Bank) in Westphalia.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, St. Ann's Sewing Circle, St. Joseph Parish Choir, and the Friendship Club. She also was a volunteer with Westphalia Hills.
Lillian enjoyed gardening, walking, sewing, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include: five children, Kenneth (Darlene) Cavender, Lee's Summit; Karen (Doug) Hackmann, Columbia; Kathy Cavender, Holts Summit; Keith (Anne) Cavender, Westphalia; Karla (Steven) Brune, Westphalia; nine grandchildren, Rebecca Cavender; Brittainy Cavender; Brian Cavender; Kendall Cavender; Lauren Brune; Christian Brune; Kellan Cavender; Grace Brune; Nolan Brune; two step-grandchildren, Kate (Matt) Lammers and Kim (Tom) McNerney; three step-great-grandchildren, Mason Lammers, Maddox Lammers, Reagan Lammers; one brother, Jim (Yovetta) Werner, Jefferson City; and three in-laws, Ted (Beth) Cavender, Eureka; James Cavender, Florida; and Betty Cavender, Pacific.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Ruth "Boots" Bocklage, Doris Schauwecker, Rosie Mahon; and a brother-in-law, Nelson "Todd" Cavender.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.

My sympathies and prayers to Lil’s family. She was such a joy when we would see her at Summit Villa while visiting Mom.
Lil was always ready with a smile. She always had a kind word and enjoyed people, and let them know with kind wit and a humorous response. I was sorry to learn of her passing. She was so much fun to know and be around. My most sincere sympathy is extended to Lil’s family.
I love that feisty lady. When we visited at Summit Villa, she always had a comeback for everything. My prayers are with Kathy and the rest of the family, and I will miss her.
We will surely miss this fine lady, her sense of humor and love of family. Our prayers are with the entire family and we will be there for the funeral on Friday.

I’m so sorry to hear of Lil’s passing. She was so outgoing, happy, feisty, yet loving. Lots of fun to be around. She had energy to burn and kept everyone on their toes while at Summit Villa. I missed her the minute she left. My prayers are that you are comforted during this time of loss.
