Loreen Gertrude Volmert, 88, of Folk, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Heisinger Bluffs. She was born June 6, 1926, in Folk, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Boeckman) Haselhorst. She was a 1944 graduate of Westphalia High School. Loreen was united in marriage on June 14, 1949, in Folk to Andrew Walter Volmert who preceded her in death on November 26, 2003. A homemaker all her life, Loreen was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she was a member of the Sewing Circle. Loreen enjoyed quilting and serving as an election poll worker. Her greatest passion was her family including all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: thirteen children, Carolyn Loethen, St. Thomas; June (Frank) Bax, St. Elizabeth; Peggy (Thomas) Wildhaber, Argyle; Virginia Kindelspire, Jefferson City; Luke (Norma) Volmert, Folk; Samuel (Linda) Volmert, Folk; Helen (David) Johns, Jefferson City; Laura (Greg) Stratman, Vienna; Grace (Don) Toebben, St. Martins; Nancy (Gary) Stratman, Vienna; Jeffrey Volmert, Meta; Robert (Judy) Volmert, Jefferson City; Doris (Thomas) Gibbons, Florissant; 33 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Agatha Haselhorst, Taos. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Kelsey Toebben; six siblings, Mathilda Wilbers, Clara Schmidt, Emma Carter, August Haselhorst, Margaret Prenger, Anton Haselhorst; and two sons-in-law, Tom "Butch" Loethen and David Kindelspire. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia. Additional visitation will be 8-9:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk with the Rev. Anthony Viviano officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, P.O. Box 157, Westphalia, MO 65085.
