Loretta Mae Schroer, 93, of St. Martins, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Oak Tree Villas. She was born August 22, 1921, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Victor W. and Hilda (Swanson) Brondel. She was united in marriage on June 5, 1941, in St. Martins to Joseph Herman Schroer who preceded her in death on July 4, 2005. Mrs. Schroer spent the majority of her life as a homemaker helping to raise seventeen children with her husband. She was also proud to have worked for the Missouri Bar Association in her '70's. She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, playing scrabble, and was a strict cross word puzzle player. She also loved to bake for her family including making home made bread. Since the death of her husband Joseph, her dog Hobo has been by her side and watching over her. Loretta loved to spend time with her family and friends especially all of the babies in the family. Survivors include: sixteen children, Virginia Mosley, Brazito; Jane Schroer, Jefferson City; Barbara (George) Carter, New Bloomfield; Joe (Janet) Schroer, St. Martins; Bill (Marilyn) Schroer, Centertown; Katherine (Henry) Wachholz, Columbia; Dorothy (Ronald) Bandelier, Jefferson City; Patricia (Frank) Haselhorst, Jefferson City; Ruth Lister, Jefferson City; Frank Schroer, Jefferson City; Steve (Linda) Schroer, Jefferson City; Mary Beth (Anthony) Ford, Brazito; Dan Schroer (Stacy Bockelman), High Point; Suzanne (Terry) Roush, Jefferson City; John (Kathleen) Schroer, Brazito; Gene (Ginger) Schroer, Brazito; 39 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Betty Carel, St. Martins; Dorothy Boeckman, St. Martins; Ruth Boeckman, St. Martins; and Annie Wilbers, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Bernard Schroer; two sons-in-law, George Lister and Ed Mosley; one sister, Clara Brondel; and seven brothers, Victor, Richard, Donald, Bob, Ken, Julian, and Jerry Brondel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin A Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Martin Catholic Church with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Martin Catholic School Expansion Fund, 7206 St. Martins Ave., Jefferson City, MO 65109.
