I saw the notice in my recent BYU Magazine. I worked with Mark on campus back in 1985 as a custodian at the brand new BYU “Technology” building (now known as the Crabtree building). I am sorry to hear of his passing. We had some good times together playing guitar (off the job, of course!). I am glad to see that he fulfilled his desire to pursue and obtain a degree in Linguistics. He looks fantastic and very happy in the picture on the website.
Please accept my condolences on your loss. Mark was a warm, funny man who would always go out of his way to help anyone who was in need. He will be missed by a lot of people, as he touched many lives.
We hold you in the light of love and community. With deepest sympathy,John and D.D. Hilke
Anderson, Alex and Family, our deepest condolences go out to you at this time. It will not be easy, but remember the good times, for they will continue to make you smile and help ease the ache. Beth Minter and family
Mark was a regular participant in our Twitter screenwriting community, Scriptchat. On behalf of all writers who learned from him and shared his passion for prose, we are deeply saddened and sorry for your loss. On a personal note, he was always supportive of my writing and columns. I will miss him and his warm smile that showed through even a 140-character tweet. He was a special man. My prayers are with you all.
We are both saddened and shocked to hear of Marks passing. He was one of the best friends that anyone could ask for. He will be missed greatly. We are sending love and prayers to the family. Wish we could make the trip to say goodbye.
I am stunned by this unexpected tragedy. My deepest condolences to Jeannie and family.

Jeannie & Family,I will always remember how kind and supportive Mark was when I had some stories on the preliminary ballot for a Stoker one year. He was not simply helpful and patient with me, but also excited for me. He made the experience special. You are all in my prayers. God bless!
