Mary Jane Lueckenotte, 68, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born January 19, 1949, in Westphalia, the daughter of the late Alfred Francis and Angeline Anna (Verslues) Berhorst.
She was a 1967 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Lincoln University in 1995.
In earlier years, Mary Jane worked for the State of Missouri Highway Patrol and then later worked for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a secretary for State Schools for over twenty years. She retired from DESE June 1, 2016. In addition, she worked part time for the News Tribune in customer service.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and served as a communion minister.
Mary Jane enjoyed the outdoors, stemming gooseberries, harvesting pecans, and bowling. Her passion was doing all sorts of needle work that she donated to different Catholic parishes.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Donald Lueckenotte, Jefferson City; seven sisters, Emily (Chris Luebbering); Lillian (Paul, Sr.) Lackman, Lucy (Steve) Suthoff; Patricia (Mike) Kaiser, all of St. Thomas; Doris (Keith) Neier, Rich Fountain; Janice (Jim) Iacovino, Naples, FL; Rhonda (Bob) Czarnecki, Wardsville; two brothers, Stephen (Nancy) Berhorst, Westphalia; and Ralph (Anne) Berhorst, Freeburg; a sister-in-law, Dina Krieg, Westphalia; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Glenn Berhorst and Thomas Berhorst.
Visitation will be 3:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City with a prayer service at 3 p.m. An additional visitation will be 1-2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Westphalia.
Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Transplant Fund, Foundation of Barnes Jewish Hospital, 1001 Highlands Plaza Dr. West, St. Louis, Missouri 63110; or to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, Missouri 65101.
