Michele Samson, 66 of Bonnots Mill passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Boone Hospital.

She was born in Jefferson City on October 10, 1959 to the late Bobby and Marie (Markway) Ferguson.  She was a graduate of Helias Catholic High School.  Having an interest in health care, Michele attended Lincoln University to become a Registered Nurse in 1988.  In 1997, she received her Master’s Degree from Clarkston College as a Nurse Practitioner.  With her retirement from JCMG, Michele was proud to have provided nursing care for over 30 years.

After reconnecting with a long-time friend, Tim Samson, they became newlyweds on January 7, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Parish, Loose Creek.  Michele enjoyed sewing, listening to country music and cooking delicious meals for her family especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.  She was also a member and active supporter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2693.

Survivors include her husband, Tim of Bonnots Mill; four children, Ashley (Rick) Bates of Lohman, Heather (Shawn) Kinworthy of Brazito, Lindsey (Kevin) Schlottach of Jefferson City, Zachary (Shyra) Dougherty of Jefferson City; twenty-three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Lynn (David) Young of Fulton; brother, Gary (Terri) Ferguson of Jefferson City.  Michele was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Dougherty and brother, Robert Ferguson.

Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, Loose Creek.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Anthony Rinaldo officiating.  Private entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

  5. I recall what an exciting time it was when baby Rhys came home from the hospital. She and I both were so excited as grandmothers. She made the most creative costumes for her grandchildren. Rest in peace Shelly…you had a wonderful life.
