Nancy Gage Dalton, 84, of Jefferson City, died Monday, August 8, 2011, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born on December 18, 1926, in Horatio, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Frank Richard and Mary Louise Porter Gage.
She graduated at the age of 16 years from Horatio High School in 1942. In 1946, she graduated from the University of Arkansas.
She was united in marriage on February 11, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo., to Thomas Erwin Dalton who resides at the home.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Nancy also was volunteered with the Samaritan Center as a tutor.
Nancy was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, and traveling.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Mary Colleen Dalton (Douglas W. Briggs, Jr.) Vienna, VA; Annemarie Dalton, Fairway, KS; Ellen (Trey) DeBose, Merriam, KS; four grandchildren, Samantha Cowan; Bridget Minor, Thomas Briggs, and Claire Briggs; and two nephews, Kelly Gage and Shepard Gage, both of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Gage.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association, 2400 Bluff Creek Dr., Columbia, Mo 65201.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and support given to them by the ICU nursing staff at St. Marys Health Center.

  4. I am so sorry for your loss. I played Bridge with Nancy several times and replaced her as a partner in the group when she no longer could play. I know the pain you are going through.
