  1. I am a teacher and student council advisor at JCHS. I was so sorry to hear of Nelson’s death. He was always a huge help with our events. Whether it was after school or midnight Nelson always had a smile for us and would say, “what do you need help with.” He will truly be missed by JCHS Student Council. We are very sorry for your loss.

  2. I recommend this funeral home to everyone they have done every thing my grandpa would have wanted. To anyone who doesn’t know him he was an amazing caring and stubborn man, he had more love in his heart then I’ve seen in anyone’s. he wil be missed dearly

  3. Thank you so much Chad Rizner for your kind words. I

know my dad spoke very highly of all the staff and students their and was proud to be a part of the school.

  5. I have known Nelson for all 15 years that he was with us at Nichols Career Center and Jefferson City High School. He was truly one of the nicest people that I have met and I

always enjoyed joking around with him. After his illness a few years back, I didn’t know if he would be able to return… he did and he was the same ol’ Nelson. He always had good words for you.

I also remember one very snowy/frigid day some time after he had returned from his illness. I had to go to the high school for some reason and all of our maintenance guys were busy getting sidewalks cleared for our return to

school. Nelson let me know that he was unable to do a lot of shoveling due to him not being completely recovered. He had brought in a four-wheeler with a blade and his own gasoline so that he could do “his share” of the work. In all reality, Nelson saved the rest of the guys from much of the work as Nelson and the four-wheeler did the bulk of the

clearing. I told him that the district should reimburse him for his gasoline and his response was “Naaahhhh.” I wouldn’t have expected any other response from him.

Nelson will be missed and I will especially miss his greeting to me EVERY time he would see me… “What’s goin’ on Brickey????”

He was one of a kind. My sincerest and deepest condolences go out to his family.
