Omer Nicholas Sieren, 79, of Folk, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Westphalia Hills, with his devoted wife, Bernie, lovingly caring for him through his final days.
Born July 5, 1946, in Washington, Iowa, Omer was the son of Bernard and Lucille (Heisdorffer) Sieren. He graduated from Keota High School in 1964. On April 8, 1967, he married the love of his life, Bernadette Wehr, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sigourney, Iowa. Together they raised two daughters, Theresa and Alicia, of whom he was very proud.
Omer grew up working on the family farm before working as a construction worker in Iowa City. In 1974, he and Bernie purchased a farm near Browning, Missouri, where they raised livestock, harvested crops, and tended to a large garden. He later worked for Conagra in Milan, Missouri, and after moving to the Folk area in 1995, he was employed by Modine Manufacturing until his retirement.
A man of faith and community, Omer was a member of the Keota, Iowa, Knights of Columbus and a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where he regularly attended Mass. He enjoyed playing cards, trying his luck with the lottery, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time outdoors—especially riding his John Deere Gator. Above all, he cherished watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Omer is survived by his wife, Bernie, of the home; daughters Theresa Huhn (Mark) of Folk and Alicia Kolb (Curt) of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Katelyn White (Ethan), Cody Huhn, Nathan Kolb, and Trevor Kolb; and one great‑grandson, Rhett White. He is also survived by two brothers, Herb Sieren and Roger Sieren; five sisters, JoAnn Scandridge, Connie Poole‑Hamende, Sharon Robertson, Bev Berg, and Carol Bermel; as well as numerous brothers‑ and sisters‑in‑law, nieces, nephews, and great‑nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lucille Sieren, and his father‑ and mother‑in‑law, Matt and Rosemary Wehr.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk, Missouri. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., celebrated by Father Dylan Schrader, with burial in the parish cemetery.
