Oreal Odis Skidmore

He was born August 9, 1921, in Okauchee, Oklahoma, the son of the late Owen Odis and Lena (Affentranger) Skidmore.
He was united in marriage on April 15, 1941, to Minnie Olevia Sherwood who preceded him in death on June 17, 1996. On May 27, 2000, in Linn, Missouri, he married Mary Jo Helmig Ridenhour who survives.
Oreal began working by milking cows, mining in Colorado, farming, logging, and eventually started and operated Skidmore Lumber Company. He retired in 1994 when he sold the business to his sons.
He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Judge, Missouri. He enjoyed spending time with his family, having a strong work ethic, and most of all, his devotion to his Church and God.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Skidmore, Freeburg; three sons, Odis (Penny) Skidmore, Moberly; Howard (Debbie) Skidmore, Freeburg; Douglas (Brenda) Skidmore, Freeburg; three daughters, Mary (Lloyd) Graham, Rolla; Jackie Bullock, Borger, TX; Betty (Don) Bodine, Moberly; one brother, Johnny (Mary) Skidmore, Cortez, CO; two sisters, Margie Spruell, Pampa, TX; Dora (Leroy) Winters, Farmington, NM; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Lena; wife, Minnie Skidmore; two sons, Jerry Skidmore and Kenneth Skidmore; three brothers, Frank, Freddy, and Walter Skidmore; and three sisters, Leona Poole, Roma Overland, and Billie Jean Barrick.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with Pastor Perry Wolfe officiating.
Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Belle, Missouri.
The general public is welcome to attend the services while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are suggested while in attendance.
Memorials are suggested to the Solid Rock Baptist Church.
Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia is in charge of the arrangements.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of oreal. I have known the skidmore family for nearly 50 years. One thing to bring comfort should be knowing he is in heaven now healed and at peace with God. I pray for God to bless the skidmore family with peace and strength during this difficult time.
I have known Mr Skidmore for 40 years he was a great man God bless him and the family
