Born in: Kansas City, Missouri
Resided in: Centertown, Missouri

Pamela Starr, 37 of Centertown passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Capital Region Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born September 7, 1987 in Kansas City, MO to Sharon (Denny) Dolson of Jefferson City and the late Michael Dolson.  Pamela was a graduate of Jefferson City High School.  She went on to achieve her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Columbia College.  While working at Columbia College, she met her future husband, Doug Starr.  They were married at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit on April 6, 2013.  Pamela wanted nothing more than to be a loving mom.  They were blessed with two children, Samuel and Gemma.

She had been employed with the Jefferson City Public School Central Office before her employment as a Data Analyst for the State of Missouri. Pamela was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and was involved with the St. Peter Home and School Association.  In her free time, you might find her scrapbooking, taking pictures for family albums, watching the Chiefs or enjoying family outings at her favorite state park, Ha Ha Tonka.  To say Pamela was an avid reader is an understatement.  Last year she read forty-two books.  Whether it was decorating for the seasons, outings with the family or celebrating special religious holidays, Pamela loved making memories for her family.  She will be remembered for always being the one to put others first.

Survivors include Doug, Samuel and Gemma of Centertown; mother, Sharon Dolson of Jefferson City; three brothers, Mark (Rhiannon) Dolson of Belton, Rick (Amanda) Dolson of Ballwin and John Dolson of Jefferson City; an uncle, Patrick (Teresa) Dolson of Las Vegas; two aunts, Linda Denny of St. Louis and Alice Saubers of Mission, KS and Pam’s Goldendoodle, Woodford.  She was preceded in death by her beloved Dad, Michael and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be Friday, April 4, 2025 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Holts Summit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 3:30 p.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Reverend Chris Cordes will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. The service will be live streamed for those who wish to watch at home by visiting the bottom of Pamela’s obituary page at trimblefunerals.com.

Guestbook

  1. I am so very sorry for your deep loss and am praying for you Sharon, Doug and children. Pam and a brother sang for a year in our choir at St. Peter’s. When I looked at her beautiful face in this obituary, I would have liked to have known her through the years! Her bright face and infectious smile remind me of pictures of Jesus and His Mother Mary! May you find solace and comfort in the compassionate arms of Our Lord and His Mother.

  2. I love you all! Pam, you were a great momma and wife! I’m speechless with your passing. May your kids always know your legacy! Much love!

  3. No words can express how deeply sorry I am to hear about Pam! My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you!

  4. I have distinct memories of when Pam was born in 1987 and getting to hold a baby for a 7 year old was a big deal! We were both pregnant at the same time and our daughters are about a week apart. I know Pam loves her family and her church more than anything in this world! A bright light of lady gone way too soon but no resting in the arms of Jesus ❤️

  5. We are so very sorry. It was always so evident in her Facebook posts and listening to Ruth and Larry talk about how very much Pam loved her kids and what a wonderful mom she was. We will be praying for Doug and the kids.

  6. Pam had such a beautiful smile and an infectious, incredible laugh. I have many wonderful memories of her silliness, especially her fondness for “horse fish”. I think of her and grin every single time I see a seahorse. I’ll never forget our adventures when I lived in Jeff City. She was a sweet soul and I know she’ll be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

  7. Forever in our hearts and our souls. You are a star in the sky shining down upon us. I send all my love to your mom, husband, and kids Pam. 🕊️ I love you ❤️

  8. Pam was my student and later my colleague. She was a wonderful person and I appreciated the smile she always had. I am so sorry for your loss.
