Patty Sue Gaughan

Patty Sue Gaughan, 55, of Holts Summit, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born August 3, 1960, in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of the late Richard and Lorene (Duggins) Woods.
Patty worked as the human resource director for both St Mary's and Nevada Regional Hospitals and as a recruiter for Capital Region Medical Center. She's worked proudly in the Human Resources field for over 20 years.
She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit. She enjoyed playing bingo, eating out with her friends, spending time with her family, and especially loved being a mom to Sarah and grandma to Brooklyn.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah (Ryan) Shorthose, Oreana, IL; one granddaughter, Brooklyn Shorthose; and three siblings, Nancy (Joe) Plowman, Bloomfield, Iowa; Dick (Sandy) Woods, Edina, MO; and Dean Woods, Edina, MO.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Brother Frank Whitney officiating.
Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO.

I was so saddened to hear of Patty’s passing. She was my boss at St. Mary’s Health Center and was a wonderful, loving, caring, humble, and compassionate individual. She really cared about her staff and ‘lived’ the mission of the Center. And, she was a wonderful and devoted mother to her daughter, Sarah. Patty, we are all going to miss you!

My deepest sympathy to Patty’s family and friends. I have the fondest memories of Patty from all our years together at school and even though the years and miles have separated us, I have always had the fondest memories of her and am deeply saddened to hear of her passing.
