To the Family of Paul Krone, I had the pleasure of working with Paul occassionally when his path crossed with the Ford County NRCS/SWCD office. Paul was such an out-going, friendly person. He was ALWAYS in good spirits no matter what the circumstance, and he had a smile on his face. We need more people like Paul in the world. I will always remember his smile and his interest in sharing with others and bringing comradery to all he did. I am deeply sorry to hear of his passing. I was at the family reunion last week and it was very sad that we knew that Paul would not make it. It took great courage for Paul to fight what happened to him. That we will remember him for.
My thoughts are with your family. Many of us at the Iroquois County office thought a lot of Paul. Personally I felt Paul had found his home in Watseka late in his career. The producers enjoyed working with him and he was a great promoter of NRCS/SWCD. He was easy to talk to and good to work with. Always loved talking NASCAR with him (and giving him a hard time when Stewart lost or Jimmy Johnson won). Again, my condolences.
Very sad and sorry to hear of your loss. Paul was a great mentor to me as my supervisor at the USDA NRCS office in Watseka.

my deepest sympathies to all of you. I am a part time employee at the Watseka office. Paul got me my job here, and I worked with him his last year here. I’m the one he went to the races with in Joliet last year. The NASCAR races were rained out on Sunday. When I showed up to work on monday the first thing he said was,”hey, you want to go to the races.” I thought he was kidding. He said,” I’m serious, let’s go.” An hour later we’re on our way. On the way he told me not to tell his wife. he didn’t want to get into trouble with her, then laughed. I called paul last wednesday, and feel fortunate to know i was privleged to hear some of his last wisdom. I truly enjoyed every moment with paul wether in a working situation or personal. I will never forget watching him walk out of this office his last day with great saddness in my heart and tears in my eyes. I am a better person for having known him.
