Rebecca Marie Howard, 71, of Russellville, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 4, 1951, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Cornelius August and Bernita Elizabeth (Redel) Lock.
She was a 1969 graduate of Osage R-3 - Fatima High School.
Rebecca was united in marriage on April 8, 1971, in Herzogenaurach, Germany, to Nelson Lilburn Howard, Jr. who preceded her death on May 16, 2018.
She worked for Social Services for several years before transferring to and retiring from MODOT’s Motor Carrier and Railroad Safety division. She also worked part time for H & R Block, the US Census Bureau, and Gerbes Superstore.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Rebecca enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was a member of the Young Farmers and spent several years as a 4-H project youth leader. She also served as co-superintendent of the Beef Show at the Osage County Fair with her husband while their children were showing. She had a passion for animals and gardening and shared her love for such with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Jamie (Christopher) Eiken, Russellville; two sons, Adam (Ginger) Howard, Russellville; and Bradley (Stephanie) Howard, St. Martins; five grandchildren, Emma Eiken, Clayton Eiken, Jacob Howard, Brendon Howard, and Skylar Howard; a sister, Pamela Ann (Michael) Zika, Koeltztown; and a sister-in-law, Rhonda Lock, Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; an infant daughter, Rachael Elizabeth Howard; and a brother, Randal Lock.
Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason T. Doke officiating.
Memorials are suggested to St. Martin School, St. Martin Church, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
