Richard "Rich" Harold Donehue, 80, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing. He was born October 17, 1934, in Frankenstein, Missouri, the son of the late Peter Francis and Anna Agnes (Nilges) Donehue. He was a 1954 graduate of Linn High School. Richard served in the Missouri National Guard for five and one half years after his six month basic training. Richard began his work career in Linn with Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Services. After ten years with ASCS, he attended LaSalette Seminary in St. Louis for four months. Richard then went to the Missouri Highway Department as an auditor in the Bridge Division where he worked for 26 years. He then transferred to Fiscal Services where he worked for four years, retiring in 1997 with 30 years of service. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he participated with fund raising projects, served as a communion minister, and volunteered for the funeral luncheons. Richard was a member and officer in the Linn Jaycee Organization, served as District Vice President and Linn President as well as other positions throughout the years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 in Jefferson City. Richard was active in the Jefferson City Little Theatre for many years. He also volunteered at Samaritan Center. He loved to socialize and visit with his friends at the American Legion and Mel's Diner. One of Richard's favorite trips was to Ireland. Richard is survived by two siblings, Donald (Patrice) Donehue, Jefferson City; Eula Schepers, Jefferson City; 30 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jeannette Luetkemeyer, Dorothy Vogel; five brothers, Patrick Donehue; Daniel Donehue, A.C. "Pete" Donehue, Robert Donehue, Lincoln Donehue; and two nephews, Peter Donehue and Bobby Donehue. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. George Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Mass Intentions; the Samaritan Center, 1310 East McCarty Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or to the America Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109.   1. I worked with Rich at MoDOT, and I knew him for many years. He was a great friend, and he would go out of his way to help anyone in need at any time. Many of us who knew Rich will miss his kindness and his friendship, and I want to express my condolences to his family for their loss.
