ROBERT JOHN KNAEBEL

April 13, 1928 ~ May 3, 2011
He was born on April 13, 1928, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Clarence George and Tillie Moeller Knaebel.
Robert was a commercial fisherman for most of his life.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Survivors include: three children, Stephanie (Leroy) Roettgen, Jefferson City; Suzanne (John) Stoy, Minneapolis, Minn.; Randy Knaebel, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren, Tim Roettgen, Leigh Ann Tillman, Hannah Stoy, Madeline Stoy, Levi Stoy, Jesse Stoy, Esther Stoy; five great-grandchildren, Claire Roettgen, Blake Roettgen, Nicholas Roettgen, Trent Tillman, Walt Tillman; and one sister, Louise Ruth, Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Knaebel.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating.
Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

Stephanie sorry to here about your loss. I remember Robert from when I was a kid. Steve and I would always run up to the corner store when we lived at 222 W. Ashly. Knaebels Market I beleive the name was to sell soda pop bottles we would find for 2¢. Needed to get our candy some how. Allot of people did not know dad and Robert built a couple of boats together. One of them we used on float trips with Ambrose, Brenneke and the gang. Our version of The Little Rascals. Also I remembered several times going over to your house when I was in High School to work with dad Robert and Ed to do some repair work. And did I here some stories and I mean woppers..You and your family take care.Dan and Sue Distler
