Roberta Marie Washington, 54, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born May 1, 1962, in Columbia, Missouri to Robert Wesley and Flora Lee (Britt) Mahaney. Roberta worked as a nurses aide for Charles E. Still Hospital for 15 years and later as an order clerk for Scholastic, Inc. for 12 years. She was a member of New Hope A.M.E. Zion Church in Jefferson City where she was the preacher's steward, served on the Trustee Board, and served on the Women's Home and Overseas Board. Roberta enjoyed coloring, sewing, her grandchildren, and especially loved reading her Bible. Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Washington, Jefferson City, one son, Sean Mahaney, St. Louis; three grandchildren, Deveyon Washington, KyLeah Washington, Kyren James; seven siblings, Robert (Barb) Mahaney, Sr., Columbia; Walter Mahaney, St. Louis; Wilbur Britt, Jefferson City; Gilbert (Debbie) Mahaney, San Diego, CA; Rev. James (Vanessa) Mahaney, Sr., Holts Summit; Leana Mahaney, Jefferson City; Stephanie Mahaney, Jefferson City; and other extended family members including nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Blonnie Parker, Wanda Smith; and a brother, Vernie Britt. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. James P. Mahaney, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.
