Rosa Helen Schepers, 94, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on August 21, 1922, in St. Charles, Missouri, the daughter of the late Ira Everett and Rose Woods Jones.
She was married on September 7, 1942, in Jefferson City to Clarence Henry Schepers who preceded her in death on July 14, 1987.
Mrs. Schepers was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital for thirty-five years, after which she worked at the hospital's switchboard.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; St. Mary's Auxiliary; and the former Still Hospital Auxiliary.
She greatly enjoyed researching genealogy and reading history.
Survivors include three children, Beverly Buckley, St. Martins; Elaine (Deacon David) Schepers-Thompson; and Mary Esther (Michael) Prenger, all of Jefferson City; daughter-in-law, Constance Schepers, Jefferson City; son-in-law, Sammy Walker, Jonesboro, Ark; 10 grandchildren, Dan(Amy) Schepers, Springfield; Robert (Glenda) Schepers, Joplin; Jacob (Monique) Schepers, Jefferson City; Kimberly (Michael) Veit, New Bloomfield; Bruce (Laura) Buckley, Jamestown; Matthew (Aimee) Petree, Columbia; Bro. Irenaeus Petree, OSB, Subiaco, Ark.; Jessica Prenger (Ric Wolkowitz), Columbia; Jeremy (Elizabeth) Prenger, Jefferson City; and Molly (Shelby) Perkins, Columbia; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Joyce Morris; and a brother, Jack Jones, both of St. Charles.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Schepers-Walker, a son, Stanley J. Schepers, son-in-law, Thomas Buckley, four sisters, Mary Luebbert, Nola Saueters, Iona Terrell, and infant Effie Marie Jones, a brother, Everett Jones, Jr., step-father, William Farris, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Christine Schepers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory Meystrik officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 12th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
