Roy Allen Borgwordt

April 24, 1951 ~ March 3, 2019
Roy graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1970. He was married to Dawn Huber Borgwordt for 29 years and they had two children, Ray and Jill. He later was married to Michelle for a brief period before moving to Missouri.
In Wisconsin Roy worked on the Tolbert Farm breaking horses during high school and helped out on the Emslie farm. He later worked at Waukesha Block and Tile and was Union Representative. Then, Roy worked for 22 years at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee from which he retired. After retirement Roy moved to Missouri and worked for Lincoln University. He loved the Lincoln family and living in Missouri.
Roy really enjoyed watching his children in sports activities and in family events. As a young man Ray hunted regularly with his father and grandfather at the family cabin. Roy was very active with his father Russell Borgwordt in the Waukesha Old Car Club and participated showing his own and his father’s cars with his family. Roy was especially proud to have been recognized by the American Red Cross for donating 32 units of platelets and 2 units of whole blood. Giving back and helping others was very important to him; he loved driving around after snow storms to help people out of a ditch. Roy was very kind and always saw the positive side of every situation.
Roy is survived by his son Ray (Erin) Borgwordt and daughter Jill Borgwordt. His sisters Robin (Greg) Zajackowski, Brookfield WI and Cindy Borgwordt, Holts Summit MO. His grandchildren Haywood, K’sha, Raelyn, Ethan and Drake. His special aunt Elaine, Ocala FL and a niece, nephew and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Carol Borgwordt.
Everyone is encouraged to celebrate Roy’s life in their own special way.

My sincere condolences to Roy’s sister’s, Robin and Cindy, and Roy’s loved ones. I met Roy through Robin. I met Robin and Cindy about 40 years ago. Although we have not kept in touch for many, many years, I saw Roy’s obituary in the Waukesha Freeman, and wanted to send my condolences. Roy, Robin and Cindy’s parents, Russ & Carol, were some of the nicest parents I’ve met. So many great memories, and sad one’s when they passed away. Take care of you, and may you have Peace within. Hugs, Nancee Nejedlo 🙂
