Stanley Raymond Caywood, 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Oak Tree Villas. He was born December 12, 1932, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of the late James Emery and Mary Madelyn (Korff) Caywood. Stanley received his Masters of Fine Arts from Iowa University. Stanley participated in various athletic events in college including swimming and pole vaulting. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage on March 3, 1956, in Lawrence, Kansas to Vicki Dale Prophet who survives. Stanley worked as a Professor of Fine Arts at several universities including Iowa State University, Kentucky Wesleyan College, and Moberly Community College. His passion for the arts included being a painter, a poet, and a philosopher. He enjoyed classical music and reading. Survivors include his wife, Vicki Caywood, Jefferson City; four children, Cari Charise (Forrest) Holman, Blythewood, SC; Eric (Michele) Caywood, Jefferson City; Christine (John) Ye, Westwood, KS; David (Paula) Caywood, Linn, MO; eight grandchildren, Christopher and Brendan Holman, Seth, Victoria, and Collin Caywood, Jacob and Caylen Ye, Natalie Caywood; three great-grandchildren, Cason, Lilly, and Evelyn Holman; and two siblings, Charles "Chuck" Caywood, Orange, CA; and Mary Lou (Jim) Gill, Broken Arrow, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Caywood. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Capital Arts, 1203 Missouri Blvd., Jefferson City, MO 65109.   1. My dearest Caywood family, I am so sorry for your loss of a great man. I hope you all know how much you mean to me.I would not be the person I am today without all of you. I love you all and am so sorry I can not be with you during this very difficult time. Even though we have not seen each other in many years l still think of you often. As a matter of fact I messaged Eddie Stansberry last week and ask him to relay birthday wishes to Eric and Stan.
