Tamula Sue Baker, 61, of Russellville, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020, at St. Mary’s Health Center.

She was born on July 18, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Darrell Lee and Mary Ann (Kanatzar) Butcher.

On March 11, 1998, in Joliet, Illinois, she married Glen Allen Baker, who resides at the home.

Tamula worked for the Cole County Circuit Clerk’s office as a court clerk, and a Notary Public.

She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Red Hat Society.

She was an excellent cook, loved to travel, and go camping and hiking.

Survivors include her husband, Glen; her mother, Mary Butcher, Fulton; a son, Timothy (Kristina) Lowman, Channahon, Illinois; a step-daughter, Marti (Ryan) Krieger, Lockport, IL; a step-son, Warren Baker, Joliet, IL; six grandchildren, Connor Lowman, Kailey Lowman, Addison Lowman, Ben Baker, Coral Krieger, Avi Krieger, Lily Baker a sister, Cherryll (Phillip) Mann, Council Bluffs, Iowa; and two brothers, Timothy Butcher, Fulton; and Charles (Kathy) Sims, Lees Summit.

She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, Judy Burkhart, and a brother, Darrell Butcher, Jr.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Services will be planned for a later date.

  2. So sorry for the families loss. Tammy will be missed by many. I meet her at the wedding of Tim and Tina and when Tim and Tina bought their house. I am close friends with the Lowmans for those that don’t know me. May she rest in peace. ߙϰߙϰߙϰߙ

  3. So many memories…bowling, traveling to tournaments, playing cards with the girls, Tuesday night euchre, sleep overs, Cajun Connection…lots of laughs, a few tears but always just plain old good friendship!!! Love ya Tammy you will be missed by many.

  7. Tammy liked to have fun. On Memorial day weekend her and Glen drove hours to work at the food giveaway. It was a steamy hot day but they worked hard! Those Margaritas sure tasted good when we were done! I’m going to miss you sister, until we meet again.

  23. I used to work with Tammy at the City & always enjoyed visiting with her in the kitchen break room. We shared our favorite low carb recipes & kitchen hacks with each other. I was saddened to hear of her passing & wanted to share my condolences with her family.
