Thomas John Wade

Thomas John Wade, 79, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 9, 1946, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of the late John Edward and Dorothy Jeanette (Lynch) Wade.

Tom was a 1964 graduate of Helias Catholic High School. He then graduated from Lincoln University.

He served our country in the United States Army and was honorable discharged.

Tom was united in marriage on May 5, 1978, in Belle, Missouri to Genevieve Louise Copeland, who preceded him in death on September 24, 2009. On January 21, 2017, Tom found love again and married Mariia Kluvak, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He worked for the United States Post Office located at the Columbia Airport.

Tom was a life-long member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He loved being with his family and enjoyed playing golf with his wife at the Redfield Golf Course, where he was one of the first members.

Survivors include his wife, Mariia; one son, John (Mallory) Wade, Carmel, IN; stepchildren, Dmytro Kulikov and Tetianna Shevchenko; three grandchildren, Noah, Zoe, and Aidan Wade; one sister, Eileen (Norb) Plassmeyer, Westphalia; his Dog, Ben.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and two sisters, Mary Ann Mahon and Evelyn Hegner.

Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Don J. Antweiler and Deacon Ray Purvis presiding.

Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
