Wanda Lee Stockman, 82, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at her residence.
She was born on May 25, 1929, in Scopus, Mo., the daughter of the late Charles and Stella Gertrude Patton Filer.
She was married on June 19, 1948, in Jefferson City, to David Elmer Stockman who preceded her in death on August 15, 2002.
A graduate of Jefferson City High School, Mrs. Stockman was co-owner with her husband of Stockman Feed & Fertilizer Co. for forty years until their retirement in 1996. They also owned Cole County Anhydrous Ammonia, Meta Sale Barn in Meta, Mo., and farmed in the Marys Home area for many years.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693 Auxiliary.
Survivors include five children, Donald (Doris) Stockman, Wardsville, Mo.; D. Larry (Vicky) Stockman, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; Delbert (Kaye) Stockman, Wardsville, Mo.; Dale (Debbie) Stockman, Wardsville, Mo.; and Mary (Doug) Briot, Jefferson City; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Wilda Stieferman, Jefferson City; sisters-in-law, Alice Filer, Jackson, Mo.; Gerri Stockman, Jefferson City; Delores Stockman, Jefferson City; Ida Mae Mertens, Westphalia, Mo.; and Alice (J.B.) DeWesplore, Wardsville, Mo.; brothers-in-law, Fred (Kay) Stockman, Wardsville, Mo.; and Francis (Shirley) Stockman, Wardsville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Buford Butch Filer; brothers-in-law, Willard Stockman, Leroy Stockman, and Orville "Steve" Stieferman; and a sister-in-law Catherine (Roger) Mertens.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating.
Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.

  7. Randy and I are truely sorry for your loss. We just lost Randy’s Mom in November and my mom many years ago. It is hard at first, but try to remember the good times and fun you had with her, and eventually it will make it easier. If there is anything either Randy or I can do please do not hesitate to call us.

  8. I am so sorry for your loss…I hope it gives you all comfort knowing she is with Dave and the Lord…My children will always remember Maya Wanda. She always had good cookies at her house. As we were saying our prayers last night, Morgan said, “Maya Wanda is in Heaven making cookies for us.” They will miss her.
