Daniel Lee Kottman

Daniel was born the eldest son of Howard William and Mildred Marie (Rohwer) Kottman.
Daniel was a 1966 graduate of Glasgow High School.
He married Cynthia Ann (Roth) Buser, on June 10, 2015, in Jefferson City. She resides at the home.
Daniel spent most of his adult life as a teacher. He graduated from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska in June 1970. He received a master’s degree in Reading Education from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 1975.
He spent 20 years teaching in parochial schools in Missouri, Louisiana, and New York state. He worked for many years as an Academic Teacher III for the Department of Correction for the State of Missouri. He served as a life skills teacher at Central Missouri Correctional Center and Algoa Correctional Center for 20 years.
In retirement, Dan worked part-time at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Jefferson City and drove the bus for the Special Learning Center. One of his proudest moments was receiving his Class B School Bus and Passenger License. On March 10, 2022, he received the Special Learning Center Staff Hero Award.
Dan’s hobbies included fishing and reading. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a faithful to his mother, making sure he visited her weekly in Glasgow or talking to her on the phone. Dan loved messing with his iPhone and playing games. He had a big heart for his dogs and cats. Dan had a green thumb and loved growing all kinds of veggies, harvesting pecans from his family farm and decorating for fall.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia A. Buser, Jefferson City; two children, Clay Mouser, Columbia; and Abigaile Kottman-Clary, Lake City, Florida; stepdaughters, Shayanne (James) Wahl, Freeburg; and Shelley Glover, Jefferson City; a brother, Keith (Lisa) Kottman, St. Louis; eleven grandchildren, Marshall Mouser, Kaitlyn Kottman (fiancé, Anthony Bales), Ethan Clary, Meghan Clary, Makenna Clary, Grant Glover, Hudson Glover, Christian (Delaney) Wahl, Nicholas Wahl, Alexandra Wahl, and Elise Shoemaker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one stepdaughter, Shawna Buser.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Memorial Services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Eric Gledhill officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church.

I am so sorry to hear about Dan. Worked with him at Walmart and he was a great guy.

I taught classes at CMCC with Dan. Our classrooms were side by side. I went to Dan often with questions, and he provided valuable help. After the death of my daughter, Dan helped me make it through my classes. Joe had numerous classes with Shelly at Lincoln University.
