Alfred John Lueckenotte, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Adams Street Place.

He was born on March 24, 1936, in the Teal Bottom area (Henley, Missouri), a son of the late Louis William and Anna Catherine (Sommer) Lueckenotte.

He attended school at Osage Bend.  Alfred served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959.  He was stationed in Germany and Ft. Hood, Texas.

He worked for Rackers and Barclesse, Missouri Department of Corrections, Midwest Block & Brick, and retired from Cheeseborough Ponds (Unilever) after 24 years in Jefferson City.

Alfred was a proud member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and former member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church.  An enthusiast of sports, he was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.  He even played for local baseball teams, usually as a catcher.  Alfred enjoyed the simple things in life, mashed potatoes and gravy, mowing grass, and driving around site-seeing and visiting with friends and family.

Survivors include four siblings, Jerry (Jean) Lueckenotte, Centertown; Raymond Lueckenotte, Jefferson City; Mike (Terri) Lueckenotte, Wardsville; Doris (Dan) Bax, St. Anthony; sister-in-law, Rose Ann Lueckenotte, Wardsville; many nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Lois Ann Lueckenotte; and two brothers, Leonard (Carolyn) Lueckenotte and Marvin Lueckenotte.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew Flatley officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Masses.
