Alma Pauline Eggen, 81, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on Nov. 14, 1925, in Jefferson City, the daughter of John Martin and Gertrude Mary Kroeger Eggen. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Peter High School and attended business college for one year. Miss Eggen was employed as a secretary for the Sheltered Workshop for eight years and was a housekeeper for several area families for seven years. She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; St. Anns Sodality and Immaculata Club at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; American Legion Auxiliary; and was a Girl Scout leader for twenty years. She was a charter member of the Cole County Genealogical Society. Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Therese Schepers, Lohman; Frances H. and Paul J. Meyer, Jefferson City; and Irma Lucille and Alfred Schmitz, Jefferson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marie Eggen, Yonkers, NY; nineteen nieces and nephews; 38 great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Marcia Agnes Schmitz Schweiss. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at St. Joseph Cathedral with her nephew, the Rev. John J. Schmitz officiating, and the Rev. Jeremy A. Secrist concelebrating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Cathedral, 2305 W.
