I feel like my husband and I have lost a dear friend. She was a beautiful lady and friend to us. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. R I P Amy until we meet in heaven. Carol and Roger Gibson from St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Laurie, Mo
Amy was the best step-mom and step-grandmother ever. She made everyone feel important and loved. And no one has battled cancer and died with more strength and Courage than her. Even when her pain was nearly unbearable and her death inevitable, she never complained or took pity on herself. What a fighter! Tom, Sara, Hannah, and Blaine
Amy and I spent many hours together sharing activities at our parish in Laurie, MO. She was a lovely person, both inside and out. She loved singing in the choir snd it broke her heart when cancer took her singing voice and she could no longer sing in church. Heaven has gained an angel and she can now join the choir of angels in heaven singing around the heavenly throne. May she rest in the arms of Jesus. Farewell dear friend!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
The world has lost a sweet lady who will be missed by all who knew her. I am so sorry for the loss of this bright light.
Mrs. Luebbering was an amazing teacher. The last year she taught AP English, she invited the class to her lake house – great memories! She was so genuine, welcoming and caring to all those who entered her life. May the angels carry you gently to Heaven!
Amy was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She will be missed by so many. Her family are in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda Pierce
Gary, Rebecca, & Family, We are so sorry for your loss. We know how much Amy meant to you. Hugs and kisses.
Amy was such a lovely lady and what I remember most is her sense of humor. She always made me laugh with her great jokes. We were friends at church, neighbors and also played bridge at the Elks. I met her when we moved to the lake and she touched my heart! Sending thoughts and prayers to her family!
Amy was a sweet and beautiful lady. Prayers for her family.
Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss… Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Amy was such a sweet woman. When I think about her over the years I remember her showing up at family gatherings, looking beautifully put together and always so kind to everyone. Her time here was well spent, always doing for others. She will be missed. Enjoy your well deserved walk with God Amy, Colleen Onion Turay
Amy and I were English majors at Lincoln University. We shared some of the same classes. Amy brought a thoughtful perspective to every subject and had such a delightful way of looking at the world, even during the hard times. I am glad to see that she continued as a teacher. Her students were very lucky to have had her. Sending my sincerest condolences to her family. May all the wonderful memories of Amy bring you comfort in the days ahead.
Our exercise group at Ship Shape loved Amy’s leading us. Best memory were her military abs! She knew how to put us through our routines, but with stories about her grandmother and sisters. We have missed her.
She taught me Clogging in our Las Vegas Cousin get together. Will never forget her passion and diligence to teach me the skill that she loved. Warm memories.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Jay, Cathy & family: Our thoughts and prayers — we are thinking of you during this difficult time.
I have so many wonderful memories of spending time at the lake with Grandma Amy during our annual Cousin Reunions. She would take us on trips to Big Surf and keep us all happy and entertained for a week (which I’m sure was no easy feat). Grandma Amy was always extremely compassionate and patient with me, and taught me about being adventurous and brave. She is dearly missed.
We were so fortunate to have joined Amy’s exercise class and enjoy her humor and stories. She was such a lovely lady. She will be greatly missed. Susan Orr and Ken Wood
I don’t remember ever being so taken with meeting such a lovely individual as Amy. She was simply a jewel. Although my time of knowing her was cut short, I developed an instant bond and adoration for her. The heavens have gained an amazing angel. May God provide strength and understanding to her family during this difficult time. ߙϢݤ️ Pat Libbert
So sorry to hear of Amy’s passing! Enjoyed clogging with her and biking also with the Bentsen-Grove Bike Club! She most certainly will be missed by her family and friends!
Mrs. Luebbering was an amazing English teacher! I will always remember her kind and patient way of dealing with high school students and getting them to read, understand, and enjoy poetry and Shakespeare. I’m forever grateful for the lessons she taught me, and I still feel her influence when I read works that are difficult or challenging to me. I pray for comfort and peace for her friends and family.
I just this moment learned of Amy’s passing. I wish I had known she was sick. We taught together at Helias High School many years ago, but I always thought of Amy as a dear friend. Our paths diverged after I left Helias, as they do, and I am grateful for the time, a few years ago, that Amy and the old gang called me out of the blue from a gathering in Jeff City. I jumped from my couch and drove down from Columbia to the house at which they were hanging out and had a great time recalling old times, looking at Helias yearbooks from the time we taught together, and laughing at all the old stories. Amy was a fabulous English teacher, a lover of poetry, and a wonderful mentor for me, a newly minted English teacher at my first teaching position. Angie and Jay, if you read this, please know how sad I am that your dear mom is gone, and that I did not know. Just yesterday I had the thought that I needed to give Amy a call, feeling a bit chagrined that I had let the years pass since that impromptu gathering those years ago. I guess that’s why I happened to google her just now. Amy, dear friend, you will always remind me of Chaucer’s Clerk: gladly would you learn and gladly teach, and I thank you for all that you taught me and for all the fun times we shared.
