Anna Marie Brauner, 72, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on July 1, 1932, in St. Martins, the daughter of Mathias William and Mary Caroline Welch Distler. She was married on June 16, 1956 in St. Martins to Joseph Herman Brauner who survives at the home. Other survivors include four sons and their wives, Kenneth and Lorrie Brauner, Centertown; Patrick and Christine Brauner, Lohman; Gregory and Greta Brauner, Centertown; and Roger and Lori Brauner, Jefferson City; two daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley Schulte, Holts Summit; and Sharon and Mark Eichholz, Wardsville; fourteen grandchildren, Jared, Amber, Morgan, and Shannan Schulte; Nicholas and Kelsey Brauner; Jordan Eichholz; Brittney, Amanda, and Danielle Brauner; and Derrick, Dylan, Kaitlin, and Krystal Brauner; three sisters, Lillian B. Veit, Jefferson City; Loretta Brauner, California, MO; and Margaret Reinkemeyer, Argyle; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Cecelia Brauner; and a brother, Martin Distler. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2004, at St. Joseph Cathedral with the Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Cathedral Foundation, 2305 W. Mrs. Brauner was educated at St. Martin Catholic School and St. Peter High School. A homemaker, she was employed through the years with Oberman Manufacturing Company; provided childcare for area families; and was a cook at Jefferson City Junior High School, Missouri Farm Bureau, and American Legion Post 5. She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and was a volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels, St. Martin School cafeteria, and St. Joseph Cathedral cafeteria. Mrs. Brauner enjoyed dancing, playing cards, board games, going to rummage sales, and her grandchildren.
