Arbell was our next door neighbor. The best neighbor anyone could have asked for. She was there when you needed her, ready to go, if you wanted to do something. I borrowed many cups of sugars or an egg to add to the ingredients of a recipe. She will be missed beyond words. Our sympathy to Sam, Russell, Barb, Roger, Phil and their families. Our prayers and love to all of you.
Although I never met Mrs. Vogel in person, I feel as though I got to know her very well through her beautiful daughter Barb. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this time.
My sympathy to Phil and Linda. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you Doris. Grandma thought the world of you.
Grandma Arbell loved her family so so much. She was devout Catholic who passed down her dedication and love for Jesus to her daughter Barbara, who in turn, passed down to her children. This is Grandma Arbell’s greatest legacy in my eyes as it continues to live in spirit as I hear my daughter Harper talk to God in prayer every night before bed. It is a time I cherish and cant help but think about Grandma Arbell as the sower of this seed. A couple years back I FaceTimed Grandma Arbell and Harper prayed over her before a big surgery she had planned. It brought me to tears. It was then I feel that there was an understanding that she knew I appreciated her so much. I love you Grandma Arbell and as I type I know you have your strong grip on my shoulder telling me you love me too. Rest in Peace, hear my prayers at night and throw in a word for me to the big guy so I can see you again some day.
I’ve spent a big part of my adult life as a next door neighbor of Arbell’s. We couldn’t have hand-picked better neighbors. Our kids played together, the husbands were card playing buddies, and liked to talk sports. Arbell and I became such good friends, she was truly like the sister that I never had. She was always available when I needed help, a listening ear, or someone to go out to eat with–Arbell was always game. She was willing to travel to St. Louis with me so that I had company along the way, as we went to visit my daughter and son-in-law. Arbell and I were part of a weekly domino group, and loved a hot game of Farkle. She was just an all around great friend. You name it, we did it together. Arbell will be dearly missed, more than I can tell. Love you, girl! My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.
Aunt Arbell was fun and great lady who will be missed. One of my main memories was of picking cherries and cherry pies/jam. After her cherry tree was gone she would come to mom and dad’s to pick cherries. When I see a cherry tree I always think of Aunt Arbell.
We won’t be able to attend Arbell’s funeral but we will be praying for her and her family. Jim & Carolyn Schmid
My dear dear grandma. I have a feeling you and grandpa are dancing together on the clouds of heaven, but I still miss you. I love you always and forever. :* And yes, your cherry pies were da bomb! I need to find a cherry tree to plant 🙂
